Stampers Club Technique class!!

We had our first Stampers Club Technique Class yesterday and we had great time learning some great new techniques. Above is my neices take on the card I designed to show how to use the Stampa-ma-jig and our embossing powder. I LOVE the way she turned her layers. I do the usual, boring, straight and center layering. I also had the ribbon in the upper left corner I like that she placed it sideways. Way to go Morgan!!
I have been asked recently what I like about being a demonstrator. My response is always that, "I love seeing the creative ideas that my customer come up with." I never consider myself the "expert" just because I am the demonstrator. Many times I believe my customer have better ideas than I.
So, if you have ever thought that you have to be an "expert" to be a demo think again. This is so much fun and so easy to do, honestly. Just give me a call or drop an e-mail and I would be happy to get you started on the road to having fun with your family and friends.
One last pic -

This is my sister showing off her cards. The one on the left, her right hand, was the refected image technique they learned, they were all so surprised how easy it was. The one on the right was the embossed one we made using the Stampa-ma-jig. As you can see she followed my directions. She did use a smaller portion of the flowers and I like that also, it is not so overpowering.
If you would like to be part of the club leave a message or check HERE for more info. We only have 3 spots available at the moment. After this group is full I will take names for a second group.

Another magazine recreation!!

Here is another magazine ad recreated! I just love doing this. I wasn't but four pages in with my October issue of Country Living when I saw an ad for paint and right away I went WOW! That would make a great card. I didn't even finish looking through the magazine until I was finished.
So, what do you think?
I used several punches for the flowers - 5 petal flower, Itty bitty shapes punch pack, 2" x 1 3/8" oval punch, and the Scallop edge punch. I didn't have the star punch or I would have used that also. To make the star I punched another 5 petal flower and cut it down.
So, this is my one last bright spot as we go into fall. I love fall colors and am looking forward to using some great different colors.
I hope you enjoy and ... Happy Crafting!!!!

Many layers

I have to apologize for not posting for awhile. I have had a very busy week.
I am not one to use a lot of layering but when challenged by SUDSOL I did it! I really like how this card turned out. This card used our Watercolor Trio set from the summer mini which means that you can only order it through August 31. This has been a great set to work with and I am going to be sorry to see it go. The colors I used are Pretty in Pink and one of our new colors Marina Mist. I just love this blue color, so glad we have it. The other ink color is one of my favorite stand by colors Old Olive.
If I can be of any assistence with your projects just leave me a message and I will do my best to help you out.
Also, if you haven't already, sign-up for my newsletter, in the upper left corner, for all the latest on my clubs, classes, and exclusive offers!

Going, Going, ... Almost Gone!

Aren't these guys just adorable? I have loved this set (It's the Thought-) since it came out in the Summer Mini. Alas, our Summer Mini sale ends August 31, 2010. The greatest thing about this set is you don't even have to purchase it! You can earn it FREE! All you have to do is host a qualifing workshop and it is yours FREE! You can have a workshop in your home and invite a few friends over and I can show you how easy it is to make this and other cards or you can host a catalog party by showing the catalog to a few friends, collecting orders and with a minimum of $150. in merchandise total the set could be yours.
I have also used some of our new colors Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, and Early Espresso to create this card. I have so enjoyed our NEW collection of colors this past month. If you don't have a current catalog send me an e-mail and we can see about getting one to you.
Happy Crafting!

Winged Owl

Hi everyone!
So glad to have had so many join us yesterday for our SUDSOL Blog Tour. Hope everyone enjoyed the projects.
I got a chance to play with the New Owl Punch a week ago at my uplines, Jill Coleman, open house. I have seen this owl everywhere and it has become VERY popular - it is next on my list to order! One of her customers (Anita) played around with it also and created a "winged owl." I asked if I could make one and share it with others, she agreed. So, here is my creation.

We did this by taking the vest part and cutting it in half and glueing it on the back of the owl. Too cute!
If you would like to add this Owl Punch to your collection give me a call and I can order it up for you or click HERE and go to SHOP NOW and order it online and sent directly to your door!
Here is my winged owl, a male, with his female partner, notice her eye lashes, made from an extra pair of owl feet! This is such a fun punch to play with!

What says summer better than Geraniums?

For this card I used our new In Color Pear Pizzazz Textured card stock as my base and layered Daffodil Delight on that to bring out the sunny days of summer and to highlight the flower pot of geraniums. The clay pot is but from Cajun Craze and shadowed with a VersaMark® marker. The leaves are punched from Garden Green card stock with the 5 Petal Flower punch then cut apart folded in half and run through the crimper for texture. The Real Red geranium flowers are many punched 4 petal flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack and mounted with Multipurpose Liquid Glue on to 1” circle punches. Don’t you just love punches? The sentiment comes from the Watercolor Trio stamp set in our Summer Mini. If you don’t have the real thing these geraniums are the next best thing – and you don’t have to water them!

We now interrupt this tour to share with you my story and reason for joining SUDSOL!
If you were a SUDSOL (Simply Unique Demonstrator Sharing On Line) member you would get wonderful ideas like these your are seeing on this Blog Tour every day. My creativity has blossomed so much since I have joined SUDSOL. When I became a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I remember CASEing most everything I made. Through our many different weekly challenges and the many compliments and encouragement of others I have found my own individual creative style with paper crafting. (You can check out my Gallery Here.) I feel I am also making many new and wonderful FRIENDS all around the world.
You don’t have to join today BUT I encourage you to at least check out the TWO WEEK FREE TRIAL by clicking on MY Blinking Button on the right. Also, I would like you to know that once you join they offer MANY ways in which to get SUDSOL time for FREE! So, go ahead and CLICK on MY Button and give it a try.
Thank you for your time - Now back to our regularly scheduled program – The Blog Tour!

Once you have the “flower pots” filled you can invite your friends over for that bar-b-que and use those Crystal Light (or other similar container) for your friends to gather their eating utensils and napkins.
Using our Gala Garden DSP I covered a Crystal Light container using Sticky Strip to adhere it. I cut a strip of Pumpkin Pie card stock and ran it through the Crimper for eye appealing texture. I then added some of our Daffodil Delight 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon with an Extra Large Tag punch attached after punching a hole with that same 4 petal Itty Bitty Punch and then added the 5 Petal Flower and the other small flower punch in that Itty Bitty Punch pack for “cuteness.” I used a piece of Very Vanilla 5/8” Grosgrain Ribbon and 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon to tie the utensils together. Once they have been used your guests have finished eating they can take the container home for other uses such as a pencil holder, change bank, or to hold some of those dried summer flowers.

Tomorrow is the BIG Day!

We will be hosting the second SUDSOL Blog Tour!! I hope you will join us for some GREAT ideas. We have many new SUDSOLer's added to the Tour so be sure and stop by for a look. Big Shot Matchbox for Wedding

Hello everyone,
Here is a wonderful use for the Big Shot Matchbox die cut. I used it as a little Thank You box for my wedding. It is holding Chocolates that my sister made. The box can also be kept to hold other keepsakes.
I cut the box using the Matchbox die for the Big Shot. After the cover was cut I used the Embossing folder and Brayer technique with the Big Shot to color the paper and have the embossing stand out in white. The colors I used are Dusty Durango classic ink(retired)to color white card stock. Pacific Point cardstock was used for the thank you label which is also on the Matchbox die. The bow and charm are non-Stampin' Up! I had so much fun making these and it was so quick and easy - I made 50 of them. I received many Oohs and Ahhhs over them. If you would like to learn how to make these drop me a line and we can set up a workshop for you and some friends and you can even earn some of the supplies to make them!

I needed a quick project

My mom and I were headed out the door when she remembered some glasses she had order for a friend of mine. I didn't just want to take the glasses over there and my friend is always giving away cups usually with Hugs and Kisses inside. She is diabetic and so I decided to go with pistachios - she loves them. But I also wanted of course to decorate them with stampin stuff so this is what I came up with. I had seen these on SUDSOL made with swizzle sticks. I had just bought straws recently so I grabbed them and then added punched flowers from colored cardstock and then stamped butterflies from Flight of the Butterfly and punched them with the butterfly punch and Wa-la! Instant decoration. We added the pistachios later. This was so fun and quick. So next time you have a little something for someone add your own special touch with your Stampin' Up! stuff!

Finally a card

Henry is on the mend and we are planning the wedding for this weekend. So, I have a little time. Here is another card that I made inspired from a magazine add. Another Better Homes and Garden one. When I saw the add I saw our New In Color Pear Pazzazz. and the Stamp set Watercolor Trio and Hostess set Because I Care. I am so getting used to this seeing ideas everywhere. I have a couple more ideas coming that I got from clothes I have seen on others. They will show up in the coming weeks.
So, my question to you is, "Where do you get your inspiration?"
Have a great day and Happy Crafting!!!

Henry is Home

Hi everyone.
I am happy to say that Henry is home and sleeping a lot. We are also adjusting to eating differently. Low fat, low carb, low sodium. You name it it has to be low. It is an adjustment but we will get through it and should be healthier. That and we are going to eat at regular intrevals. I hope to get back to crafts soon.
Thank you for all you well wishes.

Henry Update

Henry made it through quadruple by pass yesterday and is even out of the critical care unit and safely on the 11th floor at St. Peters Hospital. He is in pain but doing as well as can be expected. I tell him of everyone's concern and love for him and that your prayers are with him. He says that we will get married before the end of the month but I won't hold him to it I want him to get healthy and strong first. So, we will be taking each day one at a time.
I thank you all for being patient and seeing us through this. Henry personally thanks you all for keeping him in your prayers.
I hope everyone has a great 4th of July and, again, I will keep you posted.

Update

My Henry is still in the hospital and will have to have triple by pass surgery. They are looking a doing it Friday the 2nd but are not sure. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. This has been difficult. Will try to keep updated. Thank you all for following and being patient with me not posting my crafting. Other things take priority sometimes.
Hope you all are getting to enjoy crafting at the moment and I will look over your work when I am able.

Bump in the Road

We have hit a slight bump in the road. As I write my sweety, Henry, is over in the hospital. He had extremely low blood pressure yesterday, the second time this month. I took him to the hospital and they have kept him over night and will keep him until at least tomorrow. They are looking at the medications he takes, about a dozen, and his heart.
So, it might be awhile before I get any pictures on.
Please keep us in your prayers. I love this man and we still planning our wedding for the 10th of July.

My step-son-to-be has been here also. I have so much to do in the next two weeks, and my mom will be here Tuesday. Ugh, so much to do, oh I already said that didn't I. Hope you all understand if I am not around much for the next three weeks and wish me luck and welcome to all of my new followers. So glad to have you and all of your wonderful comments.

Three Columns and a New Items Sneak Peak card Share

Hello Everyone,
I finally was able to change my blog to a three column format. What do you think? It has taken me forever to do this. I finally found some good instructions this evening and walla! I have it.
Also I am sharing a card I made for one of the SUDSOL challenges this week. It was different this week but we had fun with it. We had to follow 8 steps and then we had 30 minutes to create our card.
The steps-
1. Pick 3 card stock colors, one could be DSP, as with mine, I also used Pumkin Pie and Chocolate Chip.
(I used the New in July DSP Greenhouse Gala, which I also used on my magazine add card for my June 10 post. This is some fun paper as you can see and very versital.)
2. Pick 2 ink colors, I used Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze - New in July.
3. Choose 2 stamp sets Friends Never Fade - New in July - and Thank you kindly.
4. Choose one punch - Small Tag punch.
5. Choose one border - could be paper, ribbon, anything, I chose to use the Eyelet border punch to make my border.
6. Pick 3 embellishments - 2 Certainly Celery brads and ribbon.
7. Pop-up one item - the tag on mine.
8. Have at least 3 layers.
After we gathered everything then we had 30 minutes to create it.
If you decide to give it a try e-mail me your creation and I would be glad to post it to my blog.

How Trendy is Stampin' Up!?

We are right here with the times thanks to our great Color Renovation! Here is a picture of an add from a current popular magazine and above a card I made inspired by this add.
I used our new, available next month, Designer Series Paper Greenhouse Gala, which uses our current Pumpkin Pie along with some of our new colors Daffodil Delight (a new core color in July) and Pear Pazzazz (a new In Color come July). Could you get any closer to looking alike? I also added another one of our "new next month" core colors Cherry Cobbler.
I was so excited when I saw this add and our New Colors coming in July. This just shows me how with the times and current Stampin' Up! tries to be with the products we make available to you, our valued customers.
As a Demonstrator we have access to all new items a little early to prepare to present to our customers. If you would like to be part of all the new excitement early, or you are one of those who like to be the first to get the "latest" and most "trendy" items then e-mail me or call. I would love to sign you up to be a demonstrator. You can also click on the icon to the right and check out our $99. joining special this month.

I can't believe we are a week in to June. My how time flies when you have a wedding coming up.
I have been busy working my other career, teaching elementary students. Getting as many days in substituting as I can before the year is over with. Enough about me.
I have shown here one of the items we made at Eveline's workshop today. These are gift card holders. The are so fun and easy to make, and so much cutter than the standard paper envelope that you get at the store.
We had fun playing with some of the stamp sets in the new summer mini. The sayings come from the Watercolor Trio stamp set. We also used some of the Bitty Buttons. It is easy to coordinate the buttons with any paper because you place what ever color you want under the clear button and Wala! you have a button that matches you card.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I know I enjoyed stampin' today with the ladies at the workshop.
Thanks Eveline for hosting.

The SUDSOL Blog Tour has arrived!!!

I was so excited when the Summer Mini came in and I saw the level one hostess set – A GIRAFFE! There were so many wonderful sets to choose from but, needless to say, I had to have It’s the Thought in my collection.
For “Enjoy the Journey” I started with More Mustard card stock and put it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impressions folder.
I stamped the giraffes in Close to Cocoa using the masking technique, which can be found on SUDSOL along with tutorials for countless other techniques, to give it depth. I colored around the giraffes using a blender pen and So Saffron and More Mustard markers to replicate the savannah. I used the cutter kit tool to distress the edges a little and then mounted that on Close to Cocoa. I used an antique brass brad and clip and Soft Suede ribbon for embellishments.
My “For You” card, using the Elements of Style stamp set, started with a base of Always Artichoke, a layer of Not Quite Navy impressed again with the Square Lattice – Love these Impressions folders! And embellished with a strip of Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon. I used the Big Shot – a very versatile little machine – and the Top Note to cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped the Baroque design and the “for you” statement using Always Artichoke and Pumpkin Pie markers. For the Humming bird I stamped it first with Close to Cocoa and then used the Rock and Roll technique I stamped it with Night of Navy. I also brushed the edge of the Very Vanilla with Night of Navy using a sponge dauber. Before I mounted it and before I added the statement I used our new Smooch Spritzer in Gold and gave it a few spritzes – Love it! So elegant. I popped the statement with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
I hope you will take advantage of SUDSOL’s 2 week FREE trial. I know I did and I have never regretted it. Everyone there is so supportive and friendly. If you have a question you just put it out there and someone will have the answer. They have so many resources also. I have found many helpful flyers, charts, and ideas. I even recently participated in a Chat & Challenge and won a free week of SUDSOL!
If you want to join in on all the FUN just click on the flashing SUDSOL banner and sign-up today for your FREE 2 week trial!!
Hope to see you there.

I have been playing with our Simply Adorned collection. This is the 1x1 1/4 inch rectancle. There is so much you can do with these. You can decorate it to coordinate with all you different outfits. I have a couple more and plan on making even more. I have received many compliments already when wearing this one.
You can purchase items in our Simply Adorned collection by going to my 24/7 online store. or just give me a call and I can add it to my next order.

G is for Giraffe

Isn't he just so cute? But then I am biased, I just love giraffes. I made this using our Definitly Decorative Decor Elements, we have an animal for every letter. The branches that he is eating come from the XL Bird Punch that was in our Occasions Mini Catalog and has been carried over! The wheat images (both behind the glass and in front of the glass) come from the Autumn Days stamp set. If you would like to recreate your own wall hanging using one of our Decor Elements just let me know and I would be glad to help you out.
Also, if you leave a comment or sign up to subscribe to my blog I will be having a drawing at the end of this month for some Blog Candy!

The last of the Easter cards and a cute little basket!

Isn't this card BEAUTIFUL? It, also, was created using the Big Shot die cut machine. Using the Lattice Bigz Die and elements sets. And isn't that bunny just adorable? If you would like to find out how to make him using SU punches just e-mail me at stampinwithdeborah@yahoo.com and I will send you a list of the punches used.
To find out more about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and joining in on all of this fun creativity, again, just e-mail me or check out my web-site at www.stampinwithdeborah.stampinup.net.
Easter Blessings to each and every one of you. You all are a blessing to me.
